Feature Films : Return of the Invincible Shaw Brothers - 3 more restoration prints! After the enthusiastic reception of four Shaw Brothers films at last year’s festival, we are proud to present newly restored 35mm prints of four additional Shaw Brothers classics (with new-and-improved subtitles). We are particularly pleased to present three films featuring Chinese screen icon Gordon Liu who recently played a dual role in the Kill Bill films. In fact, the character that Liu played in Kill Bill Volume 2, Pai Mei, originally appeared in one of this year’s Shaw Brothers films, Executioners of Shaolin. In that film, Pai Mei was played by Lo Lieh who also appears in this year’s Golden Swallow, a sequel to last year’s Come Drink With Me (which was also a major inspiration for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). Fans of the Shaw Brothers should not miss this rare opportunity to see pristine prints of these four high octane, action-packed classics by the pioneers of martial arts cinema.
