Description
Parents-to-be Clara and Mario are hoping to rent an apartment. They are shown one by a pleasant landlady, but something is off about the whole thing. The building seems abandoned, though cries of a child can be heard through the wall. The place is littered with old mannequins... and Mario’s old shoes, and pictures of Clara and him taken from a distance. That’s odd. It seems that the friendly landlady isn’t that friendly. In fact, she’s hellbent on filling the building with fresh new couples, whether they like it or not. For such a simple story—a couple trying to get out of an apartment building—Jaume Balaguero (Fantasia hit
THE NAMELESS, the much loved
REC) manages to fills his contribution to
PELICULAS PARA NO DORMIR with fantastic tension, superb performances and incredible camera work. It’s not surprising that
TO LET was screened as a part of the Venice Film Festival. It’s that good. It’s also gruesome, bloody and violent as hell. When the crap hits the fan, it keeps on hitting you in the face until the credits roll.
