Hunter X Hunter: The Last Mission
Gon, Killua and their friends are looking forward to the Battle Olympia Tournament, held in within the honoured walls of Heaven’s Arena. It’s the greatest martial arts competition in the world, broadcast live across the globe. Many important groups are represented, including the widely admired Hunter Association. It is the Association’s venerable president, Isaac Netero, who makes the opening speech. But the tournament’s schedule is suddenly and violently disrupted. Dark secrets from the past of Netero and the Hunters has surfaced. A mysterious band of interlopers have seized the tower of Heaven’s Arena, and they wield a supernatural power fed by grudges and hatred — a power to match and in fact mirror that of the Hunters. With Netero captured and bound, it's up to Gon, Killua and their allies to seek out the enemy and defeat them!
Hot on the heels of the first HUNTER X HUNTER feature film, PHANTOM ROUGE — in less than a year, in fact — the second arrives with no discernable loss of action, excitement, drama, magic and laughs. Since 1998, the wild and wonderful world of Yoshihiro Togashi’s HUNTER X HUNTER has delighted first manga aficionados (to the tune of almost 70 million books sold in Japan so far), then anime addicts with its extensive life as a TV series, followed by further adventures in stage musicals, video games and more. With its array of colourful characters and complex, interwoven plotlines — never to mention exciting action and oddball interpretation of “the real world” — HUNTER X HUNTER has proven itself potent enough to thrive and expand over course of 15 years. In fact, we strongly suspect that THE LAST MISSION is hardly the final adventure for Gon and Killua, but it's one that’s certainly worth signing up for at Fantasia this summer!
