Bayonetta: Bloody Fate ("Beyonetta: Buraddi Feito")
In the obscure and ancient European city of Vigrid, the forces of light and darkness preserved a balance for so many years. On the side of darkness were the Umbra Witches, summoners of demons from the underworld. On the side of light, the Lumen Mages, who called down angels from heaven. Equilibrium was maintained between them until the day a half-millennium ago when a Witch and Mage transgressed against the established order. The child of their love was a threat against peace and order, with the potential to bring together the Left Eye and Right Eye of the World — bringing the Creator himself back to our world, which would surely end. The lovers were punished and holy/unholy war erupted.
Five centuries later, in fog-shrouded modern Europe, a saintly nun visits a church, her prayers attracting a host of angels. Their mistake — she reveals herself to be Bayonetta, a lithe and acrobatic witch packing powerful handguns. A mistress of the Bullet Arts, she soon dispatches the celestial host. But what she cannot dispel are questions that gnaw at her. She cannot remember who she was before awakening in a tomb at the bottom of a lake 20 years earlier. Nor does she know the secrets of the magical jewel she carries, or the truth of what became of the Witches, the Mages and their terrible conflict…
With a fluidity and flair the recalls the best of the 1990s globe-sweeping anime wave, widely admired animation studio Gonzo (SAMURAI 7, AFRO SAMURAI, HELLSING) present their full-length feature-film anime of the 2009 hit video game BAYONETTA. A wild, spectacular action-fantasy quest that takes grand and imaginative liberties with European history and Catholic mythology, BAYONETTA: BLOODY FATE is an anime adaptation that remains entirely faithful to its source material while investing its exciting legend with fresh new energy!
