Fantasia Discovery SORTIE 67 wins Claude Jutra Award!

Jephté Bastien’s Sortie 67 - which had its world premiere as a work-in-progress at last year’s Fantasia – has just been the recipient of the prestigious Claude Jutra Award at the Genies, an award that recognizes an outstanding achievement by a first-time filmmaker. This tale of gang warfare in the neighbourhoods of St-Michel and Montreal North is a unique entry in the urban gangster canon with its Quebecois-Haitian-Anglo cultural crossover, and is indeed the first film to deal explicitly with local street gangs. The Fantasia team extends its congratulations to Jephté and his crew for a well-deserved accolade!
